Best when the problem is well understood and the finish line can be written down. Discovery first, then a scope, a schedule and a fee you can plan against. Change is handled through a written change note, not a surprise.
Engineers embedded in your process
Best when the roadmap will change and you need capacity rather than a contract. Our people work in your repository, your standups and your review process, and are billed by the month.
Someone answering when it breaks
Best after launch. Monitoring, fixes, small improvements and a named contact, against the response targets set out on our service levels page.
We do not publish rates, because a number without a scope is meaningless. Discovery gives you a firm range before you commit to anything larger.

A short paid discovery that ends in a written scope, the risks named, and a definition of what success means. You own the document either way.
Decide before building
Flows, screens and the data model reviewed with you. Deciding on a prototype costs hours. Deciding in production costs weeks.
Ship in slices
Two week iterations, a working build at the end of each, and a demo you can click rather than a status report you have to trust.
Stay after launch
Monitoring, fixes and improvements under a retainer, or a clean handover with the documentation your team needs to run it.
We build our own products too
Alongside client work we publish our own apps under the Truestep name. The first is Apex Health: Sleep & Recovery, a free iOS and watchOS app that reads Apple Health data and computes daily Strain, Recovery, Sleep, Stress and Energy scores entirely on the device.
It is not a side project we mention for decoration. It goes through the same App Store review, the same privacy rules and the same support load as anything we build for a client, which is exactly why we keep doing it.
Questions we get asked
How do engagements usually start?
With a short paid discovery. We agree the problem, the scope and the risks in writing before anyone starts building, and you own that document whether or not we do the build.
Do you work with teams outside India?
Yes. We work with clients across time zones and keep a written record of decisions so progress does not depend on everyone being awake at once. We overlap with European mornings and North American mornings.
Can you join an existing team?
Yes. Under a dedicated team engagement our engineers work inside your process, your repository and your standups, and report the way your own team does.
What happens when an engagement ends?
You get the repository, the infrastructure definitions and the documentation needed to run the work without us. A clean handover is a normal ending, not a failure.
Why do you publish our own apps?
Building and shipping our own products keeps us honest about what delivery really costs. Apex Health: Sleep & Recovery goes through the same store review, privacy rules and support load as any client app.
